Principal Cloud Engineer – GCP

We are seeking a Principal Cloud Engineer to help build, govern, and scale a modern enterprise Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment. This is a highly hands-on engineering role focused on cloud platform development, automation, governance, observability, and enabling development teams to build secure, resilient cloud-native applications.

The ideal candidate is a senior-level cloud engineer/architect who is still hands-on with code, has deep GCP expertise, and is highly proficient with Terraform, Git, and GitOps.

What You’ll Do

• Build and enhance an enterprise-scale GCP cloud platform

• Develop automation and self-service tooling for engineering teams

• Build and maintain infrastructure using Terraform / Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

• Implement and improve GitOps practices and automated cloud provisioning

• Establish cloud governance, security, compliance, and engineering best practices

• Improve observability, reliability, resiliency, and operational maturity

• Guide development teams on cloud-native architecture and application deployment

• Troubleshoot complex cloud and production issues

• Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and continuously improve the platform

• Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership while remaining hands-on

What We’re Looking For

• 10+ years of recent hands-on cloud engineering or cloud architecture experience

• Deep, enterprise-level Google Cloud Platform (GCP) experience

• Strong Terraform / Infrastructure as Code (IaC) expertise

• Strong Git and GitOps experience

• Current, hands-on coding/scripting experience

• Experience building enterprise cloud automation and platform tooling

• Strong understanding of cloud governance, security, observability, and compliance

• Experience designing and supporting cloud-native, resilient applications

• Proven experience operating in large, complex enterprise cloud environments

• Strong communication skills with the ability to mentor engineers and influence technical direction
